Left on May 5th, heading to my first leg stop in South Bend Indiana.

There are numerous speed traps along the I-90 route from Hamburg, NY to Erie, PA.

I was relieved to be in a group, otherwise there would be a picture of me receiving a speeding ticket LOL.

Although I couldn't manage to sneak in a photo of Cleveland, it was quite fascinating to witness the fog rolling in that morning.

Unexpectedly ominous was the appearance of the skyline.

Ohio boasted some excellent rest areas, with abundant promotion for "The Ohio State University".

Upon reaching the hotel in South Bend, Indiana, I opted to take a leisurely walk around the Notre Dame Campus. The campus is truly stunning, with a rich history to explore.

While strolling through the campus, I encountered some fellow tourists and stumbled upon a massive mural at the rear of the library. Impressed by the mural, I inquired if they wanted a photo, and naturally, I snapped a picture for them. After that, I went on to have dinner and relax before continuing with the next part of the journey.

Heading from Indiana to South Dakota the next morning presented a significant challenge. Nevertheless, I made the decision early on not to exert too much pressure.

While passing through Illinois, particularly Chicago, I found that those areas required my utmost focus as there were six lanes and everyone was driving at high speeds. Therefore, I couldn't take any pictures while passing through those areas. After leaving the Chicago area and heading towards Wisconsin, I chose to stop to have lunch, refuel, and take a short break.

After finishing lunch, I observed that the traffic became significantly less stressful, allowing me to take photos. I took a break near Rochester, Minnesota, before driving towards the South Dakota border. Along the way, I stopped at a fascinating overlook that featured a beautiful tribute to the Sioux Indians.

Rested and began my next leg to Wyoming, see Part 6
